New CMA Meeting, Decolonizing Recovery, Begins July 6

A new open CMA meeting, “Decolonizing Recovery,” will begin July 6th running Saturdays at 11:30 am., at the Rec Room, 4138 N. Sheridan Rd. (approximately 2 blocks north of the Sheridan Red Line CTA station).

This CMA meeting provides a safe space for individuals who identify as persons of color, to talk about racial triggers and trauma in recovery. This is a topic meeting that will use “50 Healing Affirmations for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color,” along with “Acts of Faith: Meditations for People of Color.”

At the end of each month, Decolonizing Recovery will have an Experience, Strength, and Hope Pot Luck Brunch.

Organizers note, “The focus of the meeting will be for people of color, but if anyone is in need of a meeting, no one will be turned away.”
