CMA 2023 General Services Report Now Available
The CMA General Service Conference took place in New York from November 17th to 19th in New York City. Over 70 delegates from around the world were in attendance.
The General Service Conference is an annual event that serves as the active voice and the effective conscience of our Fellowship in its world affairs. The Conference serves to protect our foundational principles, to approve literature, to set broad policy regarding the Fellowship, and to offer spiritual guidance to the Board and its standing committees. Over the three days of the Conference delegates and other volunteers worked to strengthen the Fellowships primary purpose to carry the message of recovery. This work is primarily carried out through seven standing committees: Hospitals &Institutions, Public Information &Outreach, Literature, Finance, Communications, DEI, and Conference and an Executive Committee. Service on these committees is open to all and more information about these committee’s important work and how to get involved is included in the attached Conference Report.

Also at the Conference changes to two pieces of conference literature were moved forward including the recommendation of final conference approval of the Sex and Sobriety pamphlet and a move toward interim conference approval to two changes to the “Are You a Tweaker” reading. Finally a vote was taken to approve a new international service structure to help guide future growth of the Fellowship outside of North America.
Plans are now well underway for the 2024 General Service Conference, which will take place in Las Vegas from September 26th to 29th.
